Samples: the three interior styles
Each order uses one of three interior styles. The previews below show the opening of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (1813, public domain) in each style.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.
“My dear Mr. Bennet,” said his lady to him one day, “have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?”
Mr. Bennet replied that he had not.

Trim sizes
Choose from 5 x 8, 5.06 x 7.81, 5.25 x 8, 5.5 x 8.5 or 6 x 9 inches. All five appear in both KDP's and IngramSpark's published trim size lists. 6 x 9 is the most common US paperback size, according to KDP. Need another size? Choose “other” on the intake form and tell us which.
Hardcover
The $29 add-on can be a hardcover interior for KDP's case laminate hardcover. KDP lists five hardcover trim sizes (5.5 x 8.5, 6 x 9, 6.14 x 9.21, 7 x 10 and 8.25 x 11 inches) and a page count of 75 to 550 pages, and applies the same margin rules as paperback. We build the hardcover PDF to those rules and check its page count against them. The cover and the separate hardcover ISBN are yours to arrange.
Chapter starts and front and back matter
Chapters start on a new page. If you prefer every chapter to start on a right-hand page, say so in the intake notes: we add blank left-hand pages where needed, with no header or page number on them. A dedication, epigraph, acknowledgments, about-the-author or also-by page gets its own page when its title is a Heading 1 in Word, or a line on its own with just that title.
